The Madison Mixtape series, organized by High Noon bookers Maggie Denman and Justin Kibbel, combines performances from emerging Madison bands with an educational element. For its second installment, the series will feature a panel focused on band marketing, with Natty Nation keyboard player Aaron Konkol, The Hussy's Bobby Hussy, and Majestic Theatre co-owner and promoter Matt Gerding. After the panel, the night moves on to performances. Westernwhere—which features members of The Smells, Psychic Drag, The Low Czars, and Wood Chickens—sports a stripped-down country sound, covering pop songs and country classics alongside heavier original tracks. Madison indie-pop quintet Gentle Brontosaurus' 2015 album, Names Of Things And What They Do, is a set of upbeat, quirky songs that highlights the interplay between the band's vocalists among bright keyboard segments, especially on "Isonone," "Bruce Willis," and "KFC." TS Foss, the solo project of Tyler Fassnacht (Fire Heads, Proud Parents, The Hussy), shows a softer side of the busy power-pop/punk musician with acoustic jams like "Hollow & Bitter." —Katie Richards
